Meet the Go Red For Women Spokeswomen of 2013

By - October 1st, 2013

Merry Maids is a proud national supporter of the Go Red for Women movement. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year. That’s approximately one woman every minute! The AHA’s Go Red For Women movement has selected 11 women to serve as the 2013 Go Red Women National Volunteers.  These women range in age from 23 – 53, representing all races and backgrounds and have inspiring stories of survival.

For more than 10 years, women have been the heart and soul of the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women® movement. Real women and real stories educate, inspire, and empower other women to embrace a heart-healthy lifestyle and raise their voices to beat heart disease. Through the work of the Go Red For Women movement and the collective energy, passion, time, money and heart of women nationwide, more than 650,000 women’s lives have been saved, but the fight is far from over.

Go Red For Women is encouraging women across the country to share their personal stories and unique experiences fighting heart disease and stroke by launching its ‘Share Your Story’ campaign on the Go Red For Women website. By sharing real women’s stories, Go Red For Women hopes women will find comfort in knowing they are not alone and become inspired to rally together and take action against their No. 1 killer – heart disease.
